I AM MOVING!!!!

I am moving and by that I mean my office location. This might come as a shock to most of you considering in my last monthly memo I mentioned I had just signed a new lease to stay in my current office. Well if you think you are shocked you can't imagine how I feel.

A little background. My lease at 1755 Park St was ending, so as always I did my due diligence by looking around at the pricing on potential replacements to make sure I was getting a good deal. So I found a better deal (way better) and explained to the office manager the deal I found and asked if they could match it or at least be competitive with it (to avoid the hassle of updating my address everywhere and writing emails like this one is sometimes worth it). So to my surprise they agreed to my price match and I signed a contract lease for another year. So I let all of you know.

Date I signed my contract

Five weeks later I was contacted by my office manger telling me her company had informed her that she could not honor that contract because they would lose money on the deal. I pointed out that I had a signed contract and they vowed to work on a deal with me that was fair to both of us. Well their version of a fair deal was to increase my current rate by 15%. After speaking with my attorney he advised me that because it was only a 1 year contract, the cost and time of pursuing legal action probably wouldn't be worth it, not to mention possible issues in the workplace going forward.

So with that, I am moving effective Dec 23rd to the new location, 27475 Ferry Road Warrenville, IL 60555. Essentially I am moving across I-88, 1.6 miles away. I know for at least some of you this will almost double your commute!
